Japan Society for Computational Engineering and Science’s “The Young Researcher Award”

The Japan Society for Computational Engineering and Science (JSCES) presented the Young Technical Researcher Award 2022 to Yasumoto Kanetsuki of the Software Cradle of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Division. Kanetsuki was instrumental in the creation of the cutting-edge visualization program Cradle XR.

“The Young Technical Researcher Award”
Name of technology/work: “Cradle XR”

The prize was given because of Cradle XR’s noteworthy features and capabilities.

  • Display of the output from Cradle’s scPOST in augmented reality (AR)
  • Reduced data output size from Cradle’s scPOST for iPhone/iPad display
  • Alignment with markers automatically

Kanetsuki has significantly promoted Japanese software not only in Japan but also worldwide through the creation of Cradle XR, innovative visualization software with the aforementioned distinctive properties, and contributed to the expansion of the computational engineering and science sector.

Kanetsuki the Local Organising Committee planned to use Cradle XR in the science program for young people at WCCM-APCOM YOKOHAMA 2022, a significant international conference for researchers and experts in computational engineering and computational mechanics, but the plan was not carried out because the conference was entirely online.

Hexagon expects to grow Cradle XR not only in the traditional CFD engineering field but also in novel fields like the medical field in the future. This will be done by implementing new algorithms, deepening exchanges with top researchers in Japan and abroad through JSCEJSCES activities, and implementing new algorithms. The ceremony took place on May 23 at The University of Tokyo’s Hongo Campus.
