Artec 3D to Release Artec Ray II Laser Scanner

The Artec Ray II is a high-precision 3D LiDAR scanner created for the rapid and precise digitization of huge objects and places by Artec 3D, a world leader in 3D scanning technology. This revolutionary scanner was created in partnership with Leica Geosystems, a division of Hexagon, fusing the know-how and ingenuity of two renowned businesses. The Artec Ray II is perfect for making digital twins of large-scale items and complicated sceneries since it can record a full dome in 1.7 minutes and has a 3D point precision of 1.9 mm at a distance of 10 meters.

Artec Ray II Release 2

The wireless, user-friendly handheld Artec Leo 3D scanner, which can provide highly-detailed scans of specific parts of huge items, can be used in conjunction with data from the Artec Ray II to create really comprehensive 3D models.

When combined with the Artec Leo, the Ray II offers a distinctive value proposition. It is perfect for building digital twins of a variety of things, including wind turbines, ship propellers, airplanes, bridges, industrial floors, complicated forensic scenarios, and archaeological sites. It offers metrology-grade precision with an angle accuracy of 18″ (0.87 mm @10m) and a range accuracy of 1.0 mm + 10 ppm, taking 3D data capturing to the next level.

“Artec 3D is committed to constantly innovating and expanding its suite of 3D scanning solutions, and our collaboration with Leica Geosystems in developing the Artec Ray II embodies this commitment,” said Art Yukhin, president and chief executive officer of Artec 3D. “We can now provide a special set of two handheld and long-range wireless fast-capture scanners. This increases the potential for quickly acquiring high-accuracy data for forensics, inspection, reverse engineering, and building accurate digital twins.

Artec Ray II Release 3

The Artec Ray II has an assortment of features that are intended to improve the scanning experience and the quality of the results in addition to its impressive scanning speed. The scanner has a double-scan feature for the automatic eradication of moving objects, automated targetless field registration, and real-time scan alignment. The Artec Ray II is a reliable, approachable solution that is prepared for both indoor and outdoor use thanks to its touchscreen and mobile device interface, as well as weather and dust protection (IP54).

The Artec Ray II comes with four batteries and a charger to allow for uninterrupted scanning sessions. The scanner runs on two batteries at once, which are hot-swappable with the other two without shutting down the device.
