On May 24 and 25, the SmartFactoryOWL in Lemgo hosted the 10th official PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI) Profinet Plugfest. The event was held at the Lemgo Fraunhofer Institute. More than 70 international representatives of top manufacturers of automation devices from all over the world participated in the tech event, which once again established Lemgo as a national hub for intelligent automation and industrial networking. The tech event was centered on the early testing of new communication standards in networked automation technology.
The Plugfest event gave attendees the exceptional chance to test new standards and protocols in a safe setting across corporate borders. The environment was one of enthusiasm and a shared desire to advance the industry’s networked components’ security, effectiveness, and interoperability. Because: Many of the attendees represented Ostwestfalen-Lippe-based global market leaders in the automation technology industry.
The PROFNET user organization (PNO) and the Fraunhofer Institute in Lemgo jointly organized the event, which had a beautiful setting in the research factory SmartFactoryOWL on the Innovation Campus Lemgo.
The event was a huge success and demonstrated once more the need for hands-on collaboration with actual equipment and the sharing of knowledge in order to promote automation technology with its standards and, consequently, Germany as a hub for innovation and technology. The participants had the chance to directly test their solutions and product prototypes with one another and to jointly establish new standards.
Sebastian Schriegel, head of the department at the Fraunhofer Institute in Lemgo, said, “We are proud that the Plugfest could take place in our SmartFactoryOWL and would like to thank all participants for their commitment and enthusiasm.” “The event demonstrated that by working together, we can advance our sector and create novel solutions.”
The organizers are enthusiastic about the additional advancements and breakthroughs that can be made at the upcoming PNO Plugfest in Lemgo, which is already beginning to cast its shadow. The SmartFactoryOWL will keep providing a vital forum for communication and collaboration across corporate borders.
