Atlas Copco Acquires German AR Solutions Developer

Extend3D GmbH, which uses laser and video projection to create augmented reality worker guidance for industry customers, has been acquired by Atlas Copco.

16 people work for the company. It started in 2010 and has its headquarters in Munich, Germany. In 2022, the organization had incomes of around 3 MEUR (32 MSEK*).

Extend3D GmbH is a company that creates and manufactures augmented reality systems, such as laser projectors and 3D video, to support Industry 4.0 manufacturing processes. The automotive, large transportation, aerospace, and general industry sectors make up the majority of the company’s clients.

Henrik Elmin, President of the Business Area for Industrial Technique, stated, “This acquisition will enhance our offering in process and quality control by leveraging a diverse portfolio of augmented reality products designed specifically for assembly operations with high complexity and high demand on quality.”

The purchase cost is not made public.

The Automotive Industry Division of the Industrial Technique Business area now includes the acquired company.
