FARO Announces Strategic Partnership with HOLOGATE

Modern FARO digital scanning technology will be integrated for the first time into HGXR systems. The integration will make it possible to scan and replicate in photo-real VR everything from objects and infrastructure to real-life settings and scenarios, giving clients better training and more customization options.

Two industry pioneers in technology have joined forces in this alliance. With the best-in-class laser scanning technology, FARO has been a leader in linking the real and digital worlds for more than 40 years. This technology uses 3D point clouds to digitally capture any circumstance or object. To build digital twins, which are virtual, photo-realistic representations based on the scanned actual world, HGXR uses point clouds, which are simply a large collection of individual data points plotted in 3D space.

A part of HOLOGATE, a global media firm and market leader in turnkey extended reality solutions for entertainment with more than 450 locations and 16 million users globally, HGXR provides full-service virtual reality training and simulation solutions for businesses.

Users of HGXR systems can visualize and reproduce any genuine object, place, or circumstance in the virtual universe using digital twins. This is an essential piece of technology for businesses that need to digitally record a situation or vital infrastructure for later inspection, assessment, and training purposes, such as crime scene reconstruction or process improvement on the manufacturing floor.

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with FARO, which is a tremendous enhancement to our training and simulation offers,” said Leif Petersen, CEO and Founder of HOLOGATE/HGXR. We can better tailor our XR training and simulation applications to match the demands of our customer’s thanks to FARO’s expertise in the field of digital scanning and imaging, which perfectly complements our virtual solutions. For our first partnership, we are quite excited.

Christian Schäfers, Regional Manager of Public Safety & Forensics at FARO, said, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with HGXR in a relationship that capitalizes on the strengths of both organizations. “HGXR’s premium XR training, combined with FARO’s high-speed leading digital scanning technology, elevates their training and simulation solutions to the next level.”
