For decades, users from a wide variety of industries have relied on the tried and tested Klingelnberg measuring technology, which replaces up to six different conventional measuring devices. Tooth measurement, optical measurement, general coordinate measurement, form and position measurement, roughness measurement and contour measurement can be carried out fully automatically in one clamping. The measuring technology and the machine concept are designed in the same way for the entire series of precision measuring centers in the P series and can be expanded with individual options. In the G version, Klingelnberg precision measuring centers are optimally matched to a manufacturing process that not only requires dimensional measuring tasks, but also, in particular, precise, complex shape and surface measurements in large numbers.
P 16 G – Solutions for Complete Measurements on Rolling
Bearings Rolling bearings are faced with several different tasks at the same time: On the one hand, they should guarantee a stable bearing of the shafts, on the other hand, they should also enable low power transmission losses and a long service life. The resulting requirements for material, geometry, shape accuracy and surface roughness represent a special manufacturing challenge, as the current quality requirements require the use of numerous precision measuring devices in production. The dimensions are recorded with a coordinate measuring machine, shape and noise development on a shape measuring machine, the surface roughness on a surface measuring device and the contour (e.g. the edge radius) on a contour measuring station.
Up to 46% savings in process costs
Klingelnberg’s approach is to carry out these processes in one operation, as a complete measurement (done-in-one). A Klingelnberg precision measuring center can record dimensions, shape, contour and surface roughness in a very short time and in a single, automated work cycle. In addition to lower investment costs, this also results in process cost savings of up to 46% compared to standard practice in the industry. In addition, the precision measuring centers from Klingelnberg guarantee the required measuring accuracy even if they are used directly in production. This not only eliminates the costs for air conditioning, but the measuring center can also be integrated directly into the production process.
P 26 – Measurement time reduction with Klingelnberg Optical Metrology
In order to be equipped for all measurement tasks, Klingelnberg combines the optical measurement technology HISPEED OPTOSCAN with the established and highly precise tactile 3D NANOSCAN probe system. This combines the highest precision with the required robustness for the production environment. Thanks to a particularly quick change, the optimal measuring system can be used for every task.
Up to 40% measurement time reduction in spur gear measurement without compromising accuracy.
Both methods are also used in quick succession for spur gear measurement . This can be illustrated in concrete terms using an application example from e-mobility: with a gear with 54 teeth, the total measuring time can be reduced from 2.5 minutes to 90 seconds. For this purpose, the time-consuming measurements are carried out with the optical sensor system and ideally shortened by up to 90%.
Measurement tasks in which the tactile measurement has an advantage in terms of measurement time, flexibility or accuracy are again carried out tactile. It should be particularly emphasized that this process was integrated into the globally established Klingelnberg spur gear software. This means that the combination is fully automatic and time-optimized simply by selecting the appropriate option. No special knowledge of optical measurement technology is required for data input and operation.
P 100 – Innovative measurement solutions for large components
Whether gears for rail transport, the wind power industry, machine, printing press or mining – the fully automatic CNC-controlled precision measuring center P 100 is perfectly matched for this. Highly accurate, reliable and compact and equipped with all software and hardware options, this precision measuring center guarantees that job shoppers also meet universal requirements. Long workpieces can be clamped between centers without any problems and reliably measured using a vertical axis of up to 1200 mm. The high-precision rotary table enables the P 100 to be used as a fully-fledged form measuring device. Integrated vibration isolation, temperature-neutral measuring systems, the recording of the workpiece temperature and a sophisticated temperature model of the machine ensure a thermo-homogeneous,
The robust design and unique collision protection of the probe system enable direct use in production. Travel and waiting times are efficiently shortened, and there are no costs for measuring rooms and air conditioning. With the automatically interchangeable roughness probe systems, in addition to the geometrical and form measurement, the comprehensive quality recording of external and internal bearing points is realized. Scans in all levels enable the quick and correct recording of tooth root roundings, radii, grinding recesses and broken edges. Last but not least, the P 100 precision measuring centers can also be equipped with fast optical graduation measurement. This measurement makes all the difference, especially for gears with many teeth.
P 40 – Proven solutions in gear
measurement The high accuracy requirements in the measurement of gears and the constantly increasing complexity of drive components require the best available measurement technology and a machine and software concept optimized for these applications. This is why leading manufacturers worldwide rely on the precision measuring centers from Klingelnberg, which are both the most common standard in the industry and the reference for metrology institutes. Simple and safe operation of the measuring centers is guaranteed for all applications. The entire series is not only characterized by first-class machine quality, but also ensures reliable quality assurance.
