Q1. Please tell us something about yourself?

I have completed my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from PVPIT College, Sangli in 1990. From 1990 till 2006, I worked with two tools and gauges companies called Unity Gauges and Tools company & Empire Machine Tools.

I started my own business in 2006, in Delhi called Mikro Technic. I was selling Carl Zeiss Metrology equipment. In 2008, I moved to Pune, Maharashtra, and set up Mikro Innovations, which is an Industrial unit set up to manufacture Special Purpose Machines (SPM’s).

Q2. Tell us about Mikro Innotech India Pvt. Ltd.?

Till the year 2012, I faced an uphill battle, when both my businesses were facing setbacks, with low profits and turnover losses. I soon realized that I needed to realign my business strategy to turnaround the company.

Keeping this in mind, in the year 2012, I decided to merge Mikro Technic and Mikro Innovations and established Mikro Innotech India Pvt. Ltd. I decided to focus mainly on manufacturing SPM’s.

Q3. What challenges did you face?

In both my previous jobs, my job focus was in Sales and Marketing and I had a very good grasp of it. After setting up my first business venture, Mikro Technic, and then later Mikro Innovations, I realized that though I had a solid foundation in Sales and Marketing of Industrial products, I had a limited exposure when it came to manufacturing Special Purpose Machines. This resulted in business losses and finally, I decided to merge my companies in 2012 to focus only on the manufacturing of SPM’s.

I was able to transform my business and pave my way towards success. Now, the company has a 32000 Sq. Ft. factory space in Pune, India with a turnover of INR 20 crores.
