The CXMM 50 X-ray Metrology System
The new CXMM 50 is an X-ray based coordinate measurement machine engineered for Metrology applications. This latest addition to NSI’s standard portfolio of X-ray Computed Tomography systems has a robust design for precise and accurate measurements and includes built-in temperature control, vibration isolated granite table, and high precision axis.
“The CXMM 50 was developed from the ground up and is equipped with quality control tools that are unparalleled in the industry today”, says Julien Noel, Chairman of the Innovation Committee for North Star Imaging.
The system features a 225 kV high power X-ray source with a 2-micron minimum detectability, fitted with a flat panel DDA detector. This new CT system is intended for the inspection of workpieces of up to 11kg with an envelope up to 30 cm x 30 cm. Built with a five-axis manipulator and adjustable magnification, the CXMM 50 seamlessly provides internal and external dimensional data of complex critical components.
“The CXMM 50 is so flexible and precise that it can allow you to measure with ease the inside of a fuel injector, turbine blade, or the coating thickness on a heart valve, says Wes Wren”, North American Sales Manager.
The CXMM 50 system is paired with an NSI software package that gives users the ability to quickly acquire, process, and archive their images. Users can also reconstruct 3D models with ease using NSI’s five-step guided wizard, and save images in multiple non-proprietary formats. The system comes with an Accuracy Statement and provides high precision and repeatability for many industrial applications. 2D and/or 3D measurement tools allow for accurate measurements and CAD model comparison.
