We at Metrologically Speaking have known Mr. Uday Dixit for quite some time. I was great to get an insight about his new role at Polyworks India.
1) Tell us about yourself – (Your past professional experiences, onboarding with PolyWorks India and Journey so far)
In this new position as General Manager of PolyWorks India, I am excited to be part of a dynamic and innovative company that is at the forefront of Metrology. I have over 27 years of experience in the sales and marketing of mostly Metrology Products and a couple of years in material testing. It has been a wonderful journey to be associated with globally renowned brands such as Nikon, Mahr, Schenck, Struers, Zeiss and now with PolyWorks®. Working in different cities across India with a 1-year stint in Germany and travelling globally for work has given me an enormous amount of exposure and opportunity to adopt different professional practices. It has allowed me to hone skills such as key account management, leadership, negotiations, product management etc.
My recent onboarding with PolyWorks India, has been one of the most wonderful experiences. The first and most impressive thing I noticed is the professional and carefully planned approach to every task. The whole team is very motivated, friendly, and supportive. I am really excited to play a long inning with them.
2) Plans of InnovMetric for 2023, specific to the metrology market in India
For decades, InnovMetric’s main mission was to deliver state-of-the-art technologies to create data from 3D measurements. This strategy proved to be highly successful and fueled a major growth of the use of 3D measurement technologies in industrial manufacturing organizations. However, as the amount of 3D measurement data grew exponentially, new data management complexities also emerged, which lead InnovMetric to reconsider its company mission. Today, PolyWorks® goes beyond data creation by managing data storage, opening access to data enterprise-wide, and enabling digital data flows between hardware, software, and people. For 2023, to increase our footprint in India, we shall aggressively promote our PolyWorks® enterprise solution to help manufacturers of all sizes reduce the cost of measuring in 3D and maximize the value of 3D measurement data for their product engineering and manufacturing processes by empowering the digital transformation of their 3D measurement processes.
3) What do you think about PolyWorks journey in the Indian metrology market so far? (Hits and Misses both)
With close to a thousand licenses sold, there is a strong PolyWorks® user base in India, including most major OEMs. PolyWorks India is well known for its strong technical expertise in the field of 3D metrology and is in a remarkable position to take the next leap ahead with our portfolio of digital transformation solutions.
4) Major Launches in 2023 and preparedness for the EV market
PolyWorks® 2023 will be launched in April. This new release will expand its universal 3D metrology platform, enable to further interconnecting all of the people that capture or need access to 3D measurement information, and facilitate digital collaborative teamwork.
